CNN's Candy Crowley admits that Romney was actually right during the debate on the Libya remark (October 16, 2012)
Crowley seems to present herself as much more even handed than it appeared to me watching live, saying that she corrected Governor Romney then “i did turn around right after that and say ‘but you are totally correct that they spent two weeks telling us this was about a tape’” but she does concede “he was right in the main i just think he picked the wrong word.”

Anderson Cooper: lets bring in candy though cause candy this was a moment which obviously now both campaigns are going to be focused on. tell us now your thoughts during that moment
Candy Crowley: Well you know again i heard the presidents speech at the time i sort of reread a lot of stuff about libya because i knew we would probably get a libya question so i kind of wanted to to be up on it.
so i knew that the president had had said you know "these acts of terror will not stand" or whatever the whole quote was. and i think actually - because i did turn around right after that and say "but you are totally correct that they spent two weeks telling us this was about a tape and that there was a you know this riot outside the benghazi consulate which there wasn't"
